This is a video of a dog in Colin’s Pack’s dog hiking group being trained to steer clear of rattlesnakes on the trails. We work with a company called Natural Solutions, which offers rattlesnake aversion for dogs. They introduce the dogs to a baby rattlesnake, a snakeskin for scent, the sound of a rattlesnake in a fake rock, and finally, an adult rattlesnake. They use a light electric pulse each time the dog shows interest, and by the end, the dog wants nothing to do with rattlesnakes.
